With vocal contributions by Ron Sexsmith and the brilliant Mary Margaret O'Hara on the same album, Night for Day is already unusual. As Chris Warren's third release, it also confirms him as a voice you really need to listen to. His brand of literary songwriting has already been well established with Crazy Wisdom and Beautiful Ruins, the latter receiving some exuberant praise in Canada and the U.S. He is a poet and a thinker and he lets his songs do the talking. As evocative as the late Elliott Smith, as funny, and sometimes as sad, Warren has his own way with lyrics, and the melody-making and colour of his studio work prompted American Songwriter Magazine to compare his second album Beautiful Ruins to The Beatles' Revolver! Warren will soon be releasing a "revised" version of Crazy Wisdom, his sprawling, gonzo first album, as "Wisdom Redux". Lullabies for Grown-Ups, a pure guitar/voice collection of new songs, will be released later this year.
Chris has recently formed a band called Cymbal Monkey!
